The EVAA Wrestling Program is an inhouse program designed for all abilities in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. Follow the Inhouse Wrestling link below for more information. The other wrestling programs below are listed in chronological order to show you the different wrestling opportunities that are available throughout the year.

Our Preseason Training Program is designed for intermediate and advanced wrestlers in grades 3 - 8 to get a jump on the upcoming Traveling wrestling season. This is a newly added program offered that focuses on rebuilding wrestling skills with an additional emphasis on overall physical training. It leads into the Traveling Season for wrestlers that are planning on joing the Traveling team. Dates are: October 16th, 23rd, 30th, and November 6th, 2011.
Eastview 3rd-8th Grade Traveling Session I
This offering is designed to complement the inhouse wrestling program and give the intermediate and advanced wrestlers a place to learn more advanced wrestling skills. It will also serve as a great place to get ready for tournament competition. This session is a supplement to the EVAA inhouse and Middle School Wrestling Programs!
The Session I practices will be on November 9th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, December 6th, 13th & 20th, 2011.
FREE K-5th Wrestling Clinic (Click here for the details and dates at each site!)
The preseason free clinic and showcase is a 3 day low intensity taste of wrestling. It focuses on basic to intermediate skills applicable to any child in K-6th grade who is interested in trying wrestling. It is also great for kids who want to get a jump on their EVAA season. Due to support from the Eastview Wrestling Program, it is free to all kids. October 18th, 24th or 25th or 26th, and 27th, 2011. (Note: Depending on the elementary school site, the second day of the clinic is one of the 24th, 25th, or 26th dates.)
***NEW*** The first two days will be in small groups in each of the five elementary schools that are in the Eastview High School attendance area. The final Wrestlemania Showcase day will be at Eastview High School! Wrestlers are encouraged to attend all three days!
2011 Tentative EVAA Inhouse Wrestling Schedule
The EVAA wrestling K-6th grade inhouse program has two age levels that both practice twice a week in November and December. The K-2nd grade kids will have practices on Mondays and either Tuesdays or Thursdays while the 3rd-6th grade kids have practices on Mondays and Thursdays. This program is also applicable to all levels of athletes focusing on both beginner and intermediate techniques. One day a week focuses on learning wrestling techniques and the other will generally have technique and a team or individual competition.
All practices are scheduled to be in the Eastview High School Wrestling Room!
Pre-K through 8th Grade Youth Wrestling Tournament
****NEW DATE**** This year's Pre-K - 8th Grade Wrestling Tournament will be Saturday, December 3rd, 2011.
The K-2nd Program Inhouse season can be extended into January and February with our K-2nd Session II program. This program will be focusing on fundamental wrestling skills. (Third grade beginners may register for this program if they feel that it will be a good fit for them.)
Eastview 3rd-8th Grade Traveling Wrestling
This Eastview Wrestling sponsored program is for 3rd-8th grade wrestlers who want to extend their wrestling seasons into January and February.
The 3rd-8th grade group will raise the bar a bit with mostly intermediate and some advanced wrestling techniques shown. An opportunity to compete and receive coaching in 3 tournaments, including our Eastview hosted tournament, will be offered with an opportunity to qualify for one or more youth State Tournaments for those that are ready.
Thunderbolts Freestyle Wrestling Program
This Eastview Community freestyle and Greco-Roman club works closely with the Eastview and EVAA wrestling programs along wiht other local wrestlign programs. It teaches kids the Olympic styles of wrestling from which our high school style was derived. There is more emphasis on positioning and scoring which nicely complements the other wrestling programs. This program is now open to 1st-12th grade wrestlers and is great for kids who want more competition in a slightly different context or for kids who just want to refine their skills. The 2010 Thunderbolts Freestyle Wrestling Tournament hosted at Eastview High School was held on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010. Check out the MN/USA Wrestling or Guillotine websites for more details.
2011 Eastview 1st - 9th Grade Wrestling Camp
This half day camp is for kids entering 1st-9th grade who want to have fun and learn a little wrestling and refine their skills. Techniques are taught at all levels to accommodate all levels of abilities. The Eastview Coaches and Wrestlers staff the camp and give the kids a fun four day experience. The camp is July 18th - 21st, 2011.
