Cross Country
| Cross Country Running This program is for youth in grades 3-6. The season runs mid-August through early November. |

Attention all runners (and those who'd like to be)!
EVAA Cross Country is open to boys and girls in grades 3-6 who reside in the Eastview attendance area, or who are residents of Apple Valley. There are runners at various levels within the program, many who've never trained before, and some who've done quite well at the state championships. EVAA Cross Country has something to offer for everyone. Running cross country in the fall has also been proven to be a great way of getting in shape for winter sports (basketball, hockey, swimming, wrestling).
The regular season runs from late August through mid October, and the optional MN Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships are held in mid November. There will be approximately six meets throughout the regular season.
All practices begin and end at Eastview High School. They will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-7 PM, and will include warm-ups, running games, drills, and races. Most practices will include a run to Johnny Cake Ridge Park East (behind Scott Highlands Middle School). The meets are held at Scott Highlands Middle School, Aaronson Park in Lakeville, Apple Valley High School, the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington, the MN State Capitol, and Valleywood Golf Course in Apple Valley.
The EVAA Cross Country program is considered a traveling program because the runners will have the opportunity to run in races with children from other cities within Dakota County (Eagan, Lakeville, Farmington, Rosemount, Apple Valley, etc.). Emphasis will be placed on learning the fundamentals of running and fitness training, improving your running and fitness level as you compete against yourself and the clock, and most importantly, having fun. Parents and families are invited and encouraged to run along with their kids for any and all practices.
The cross country schedule listed on this website will be updated as meet locations and dates are confirmed.
